The High Priestess sits between two pillars, one white and one black, representing the balance of yin and yang. On one of the pillar is the letter "B" for Binah, the Hebrew word for World Mother, and on the other pillar is the letter "J" for Jehovah, the name of the Father. On the tapestry behind her are pomegranates for fertility (feminine) and palms for potency (masculine). The High Priestess is robed in aqua blue to indicate her reflective, introspective nature. The full moon above her head and the crescent moon on her feet refer to her emotional, intuitive state.
